A week before your rental ends
#1 Clean the outside of the property
- Clean and sweep the garage.
- Trim any bushes, mow the lawn and remove weeds from the area. Weedkiller may be an option.
- Remove any trash from the backyard.
- Clean the driveway paying special attention to any tire marks or oil spills.
#2 Clean inside your rental property
- Clean dry and replace all your light fittings.
- Dust on your blinds and curtains to remove and dirt.
- Wipe clean all ceiling fans and air conditioners, including the internal filters, clean and inspect any other fixtures such as smoke alarms.
- Remove and clean any insect spots or spots on your ceilings.
#3 Clean your windows
- Clean and remove any stains and cobwebs from your windows on both inside and outside your rental property
- Inspect the window tracks carrying them of dirt. Release any build-up dirt from the tracks by carefully running a screwdriver along with them
- Lift and slide the right of your screen to left by placing a screwdriver under them. Remove the fly screens before cleaning them.
- Remove all built-up dirt and dust from the fly screens using a scouring sponge
- Soup the outside of the windows using a softer sponge.
- Dry your squeegee blade after each stroke. Avoid leaving lines on your window by ensuring every stroke overlaps the previous one.
- Dry the window and its edges using a clean towel this will remove any remaining marks
Three or four days before your rental ends
#1 Clean the toilets
- Disinfect and clean all parts of the toilet including pipes, cistern, fittings, and behind the toilet. Spray disinfectants, disposable gloves, and paper towels and the most effective way to do this.
- Wash the wall tiles should use a cloth and a spray disinfectant.
- Clean the inside of the toilet bowl by scrubbing it with a disinfectant and a toilet brush.
#2 Clean the corridors, bedrooms and living areas
- Vacuum alley cupboards and wardrobes washing them with soapy warm water before drying them with a towel.
- Remove any evidence of sticky tape posters or personal hooks, and leftover residue. Clean any marks or cobwebs from the walls or ceilings.
#3 Kitchen cleaning :
- Removing all parts of the oven including the knobs stove and range hood will help you clean it effectively.
- Soak every part in soapy water overnight. Scrubbing each part with a firm scour until.
- Clean the glass and inside of the oven using a recognized oven cleaner.
- Remove everything from the kitchen cupboards and clean in disinfecting them. These items can be boxed ready for your move.
#4 Bathroom cleaning
- Vacuum your bathroom before you clean to remove any loose objects or hair before the next part of the cleaning process.
- Wet the walls of your shower before applying a cleanser and using a scouring brush to clean it.
- pay special attention to the top of the shower, the door frame, and any corners to remove rust stains, mold, and scum.
- Remove any hair or other debris from the drain.
- Using a squeegee rinse your shower and clean any shower glass
#5 The Laundry areas
- Clean and remove any rust or calcium buildup from the laundry sink. Do this using a scour and a cream cleanser.
- Remove everything from the laundry cupboards and follow the same process in these.
- Wipe down all fittings and fixtures and any surrounding wall tiles.
- Remove any last marks from the laundry floor by scrubbing it using a cream cleanser
#6 Clean the Floors
- Vacuuming every floor in the house is an irrevocable part of the cleaning process.
- Do this before your commercial carpet cleaner arrives on your last day. Sweet any hardwood floors and tiles before mopping.
- Remove any debris and hair from the floor.
The day before you hand over your keys
Using a commercial cleaning company to professionally clean your carpets is the last step of successful and rental cleaning. Complete a final walkthrough and take photographs to ensure the property is in the best handover state to reduce any possibility of disputes with your landlord.
